Tuesday Talks
Tuesday Talks, the Met’s series of free pre-show lectures, offers a broad and engaging introduction to the repertoire seen on the Met stage. These presentations by leading experts and Met staff highlight key musical moments in that evening’s performance while situating the work in operatic history. Each Tuesday Talk begins one hour prior to curtain time, takes place in List Hall, and lasts 30 minutes.
You can register for one of these pre-show talks in the following ways:
- Use this page to select a date and reserve a free ticket. (A ticket to that evening’s performance is required for entry.)
- Reserve a free ticket while purchasing tickets for an evening performance with a pre-show talk. You will be prompted to register for the pre-show talk during checkout.
- Click the registration link in a pre-show email to ticket holders.
- Ask a Customer Care or Box Office representative to book your ticket.
